| What will I learn?
BEGINNERS: You will learn: safety and manners, how to catch horses properly, groom, saddle, round pen work, lunging horses, using spurs, correct balance in the saddle, use leg pressure and develope light hands, trail riding. We will help you work thru the mistakes and frustrations/safety for you and your horses.
Students will experience our Barn Management program/Feeding guidelines and instruction to understanding horses as individuals: Learn to recognize their nutritional needs and when and if suppliments are in the best interest of a horse.
INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED: This is a general description: We will teach you:
Round Pen work. Lunge horses, Start colts. You will understand respect and safety issues, in the arena, on the trail, in the pen catching horses, loading horses in trailers with techniques that work.
Advanced Foundational Excercises: curls, counterflexs,side passing, double reverse, stops and turn arounds, turn on the forehand and hind end, stop and backups, flying lead changes.
Work cattle or buffalo and reining. Article
We offer horse shoeing classes, if requested at an additional fee. Please discuss this further with Twister.
FEES:
The schooling fees are as follows: We give Rain Checks, if needed.
- 30 days: $2800.00
- 3 weeks: $2500.00
- 2 weeks: $1650.00
- 1 week: $900.00
- Some trades are acceptable.
AFTER COMPLETION OF A 30 DAY SCHOOLING PROGRAM YOU MAY BE INTERRESTED TO STAY ON FOR ANOTHER 2-3 MONTHS AS AN APPRENTICE. WE WILL PROVIDE LODGING. YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HAY FOR YOUR PERSONAL HORSES IF YOU HAVE THEM WITH YOU AND COST OF GROCERIES.
