Typical Questions from an Interrested Student

    About our program

What is a typical day like at your facility.....

Dear Erica....Thx you for your letter. We generally keep all our fees very competitive in this market.  Some of this is accomplished because all students are involved in our activities here.  We try you out....decide what level you can start at & then we fit you with a horse project....if you need to learn to ride we have a nice gelding here to help you learn or advance you to a higher level...  We all put alot of miles on the horses....if you are ready you will have several horse projects that you will most likely start at the colt starting stage with Twister's guidence.  We are very careful to keep folks safe, challenged & learning.   There are times, after a lesson that you will need to think on the lesson & practice, practice, practice.  You will receive more coaching & help.  Am & PM everyone helps at the barn....we handle the feedings in a very simple, sensible way....it a good start for anyone to understand the care and responsibilities for their horses besides just riding your horse projects..  Learning to train horses is the basic foundation every horseman should try to develope....you can't keep a good horse going well, unless you understand the basics.  Does this help you with your questions??

    Sincerely,

    Sandy Heller

How to become a Horse Trainer??? College is helpful for Equine Management, Business Degrees & Equine Health Degrees however, we find dedication & goal orientated, focused individuals will make it in the Horse Training world if this individual is not afraid of hard work, dirt & inconvenience. You've got to have some grit about ya!!! Horse training is not for sissys or lazy people. The best step is to find someone you can learn from....trying to escape from the school of hard knocks. Keep a teachable heart & just dive in with your sleeves rolled up attitude. Be willing to pay the price of sacarifice & hard work. You work hard & it always won't be this way....the reward will come. You've got to love this lifestyle & enjoy helping people with their horses because you don't only train horses you train people.
